Harry Potter; everything else
Title: In his own skin
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: implied Lupin/Snape
Summary: Not wolf and not human For #15: werewolf
Rating: G
Word Count: 119

The potion does nothing to mitigate his awareness of the moon, nor of the night. The wolf in Remus always knows how much light will be cast by the moon on any given night, though no true wolf has such an awareness, as far as he can tell. The wolf in Remus always knows the instant that the last sliver of sun slides away beneath the horizon -- though this knowledge seems to be the sole province of vampires and werewolves like himself.

But the potion does what it needs to do, and during the full moon Remus can sleep in front of the fireplace at the foot of Severus's bed, content to be -- not wolf, and not human -- himself.

Title: Bad Puns
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Lupin/Sirius, pre-slash
Summary: "Do not incorrige." For #10: incorrigible
Rating: PG
Word Count: 178

There was someone under Remus's desk, which was rather annoying, because he was trying to study his textbook, and the someone under his desk kept bumping into his legs and squashing his toes.

Remus didn't have to look to know that it was Sirius, and he was not surprised when he heard Sirius's voice.

"Hey! Lupin, I found your favorite quill under here!"

"I don't have a favorite quill, Sirius."

"That's because it was lost. But it's under here!"

"I've never had a favorite quill, Sirius."

A frustrated sigh issued from the rug near Remus' right leg. "Oh, come on, Remus. It's under here!"

Remus rolled his eyes, but he said it anyway. "Under where?"

Sirius popped out from under the desk, and went to rest his head against Remus's leg, brimming with immature glee. "Heeee! You said 'underwear!"

"You're incorrigible," Remus sighed good-naturedly, addressing the side of Sirius' face that was not resting on his thigh.

Sirius grinned, and looked up at him, showing off all of his strong white teeth, "Then why do you incorrige me?"

Title: Socks
Fandom: Harry Potter
Character: Dumbledore
Summary: A good pair of socks is not too hard to find, but finding a contented life to go with them -- that's the trick. For #17: socks
Rating: G
Word Count: 111

Dumbledore once told Harry that what he saw in the mirror of Erised -- what he wanted most in all the world -- was a pair of good socks. Of course, this was not quite true, but nor was it entirely false.

Dumbledore was tired of deciding the fate of those he cared about, but he knew that could not trust the job to anyone else.

The truth was, that even at that late date, even considering all the wonderful and momentous things he'd accomplished in his long life, what Albus Dumbledore wanted most was the kind of life in which his greatest wish would be a pair of good, never-get-lost, wool socks.
