Harry Potter; H/D
Title: Old Wounds
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: In which Harry is surprisingly wise. For # 1: grotesque
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 159

Draco hates the sight of the snake-eating skull on his forearm, hates it with such force that he sometimes finds himself wanting to cut it right out of his flesh, and never mind that he would probably lose his entire arm below the elbow. The grotesque twisting of the snake and the macabre grin of the skull remind him of every mistake he's ever made in his short but admittedly wicked life.

Oddly, Harry doesn't seem to care about Draco's Dark Mark. He just regards it as another scar of the war that is now years past, like his own, still distinctive scar on his forehead. In the flickering light of dozens of candles, he will slide his tongue along Draco's skin, over the ugly Mark, and the old curse scars, and whisper to his lover.

"What has been done to us does not define us. What we have done is not who we are."

And Draco is comforted.

Title: Morning
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: When he's had his caffeine and Harry has staggered out of bed to join him, he will criticize Harry's choice of clothing, especially the tie For #3: coffee or tea
Rating: PG
Word Count: 168

The first thing Draco does when he slips out of Harry's arms and rolls out of bed is turn on his espresso machine, which he only owns because it's a hell of a lot easier and more immediate than brewing his morning shots by magic or going all the way out to the only cafe that serves it the way he likes it.

The second thing he does is cast a warming spell on his favorite Italian-style cappuccino cup.

And the third thing he does is put the kettle on.

Later, when he's had his caffeine and Harry has staggered out of bed to join him, he will criticize Harry's choice of clothing, especially the tie. On the way to work, he will steal exactly half of Harry's breakfast, the half that includes the top part of the bagel and the orange juice. After his coffee, Draco will gather himself together into the snarky, well-to-do businessman that he is every day.

But first, his coffee and Harry's tea.

Title: Nightmares
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/Draco, taken for granted
Summary: Nightmares in bottles. For #16: tear
Rating: PG
Word Count: 124

They keep their nightmares in glass bottles on a tall, narrow shelf in the closet. the bottles come in three shapes, according to what sort of nightmare they hold. The ones shaped like squat lances hold dreams of terror and pain; there are many of those from the years that immediately followed the war. The bottles shaped like donuts, with a hole through the center, hold dreams of isolation and loneliness; most of those belong to Draco. And the tear-shaped ones hold nightmares of loss; most of those are Harry's, but the ones that are the most solid, drifting in their little prisons, are the ones that Draco has pulled out of his head.

When you don't have much to lose, everything is precious.
